HONDA TAKES FIRST PLACE IN THE 2006 XGR GREENLIGHT EXTREME
GRAVITY RACING SERIES

(Malibu, CA.) − July 31, 2006 − At this past weekend's
"2006 XGR Greenlight Gravity Races - Challenge at Malibu", held on Saturday,
July 29th, Honda was the official champion with the best time of 2 minutes, 31
seconds on the 1.5 mile course. The Daimler-Chrysler Pacifica team won first
place for fastest speed with an average high of 60 mph; Best Design was a tie
between Mazda with Art Institute of Orange County and Daimler-Chrysler
Pacifica; and The Most Innovative Car Award went to University of California at
Irvine.
Unique to racing, the XGR Greenlight Gravity Races feature high-tech, space
age, "gravity racers" built by the world's top auto designers and
manufacturers, including Ferrari with Pininfarina, Mazda, Honda and
Daimler-Chrysler Pacifica. This year also attracted several engineering
students from several colleges who relished the challenge to design a car and
race against the pros. These one-of-a-kind racers powered by nothing except
gravity reached speeds up to 60 mph on a hair-raising mountainous course at
Tuna Canyon. The vehicles are constructed so the combined weight of the driver
and the car do not exceed 350 pounds.

theme park rides); Daimler-Chrysler Pacifica; Mazda with Art Institute of

Irvine; and the U.S. Army.

All twelve teams will compete again Thursday, August 17, 2006 in Monterey,
California at Jack's Peak Park. Following the Monterey races, the XGR Gravity
Cars will be on display at the 2006 Pebble Beach RetroAuto, from August 18-20.
The gravity racers will be auctioned on eBay during Concours Week to raise
money to benefit Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance charities.
